Today I trimmed the leaves back off of my hellebores - the most protected ones are just starting to produce their flower buds. First signs of spring!

this is the best year I can remember for the camellia
the week after this picture was taken we had very cold temps (single digits) -- I wrapped it up in christmas lights and covered in 3 quilts. some of the buds survived but the open ones are all brown and mushy.

moved my japanese painted fern from under the rhododenrons (probably there for 8 years) out along the fence under the trident maple
moved the hydrangeas down into more shade
planted bulbs and panties
planted a new beauty berry (callicarpa)

ugh - look at the lawn! this is after a day of cleaning out the beds
Roger's buckeye - I think it lost its leaves b/c I planted it in pretty full sun (in front of the garage) in its temporary spot.
